New York house maestro Jacques Renault is an old friend of Gomma. As he always plays lots of our releases he came up with the idea to do a special SUPERMIX of Gomma tracks only. Rare, old Gomma 12inches mixed with the new, fresh Gomma stuff.

He created a 60 minutes voyage. Dark, dirty, slow, futuristic, percussive. From Disco to Techno. Including Gomma releases from Daniel Avery, Baldelli, Barking Dogs, Munk, Moullinex, Deadstock 33s and Mercury‘s new single “Man” – (that currently gets lots of support from DJs like Disclosure, Axel Boman and TEED.)

The 100% GOMMA mix comes out for FREE on Soundcloud and as a CD with French TSUGI magazine in April.
Also available: A 4-track vinyl 12″ sampler.

We proudly present: the new Le Le album! Lo-fi techno funk and fucked up house from Amsterdam. Le Le is a dutch All Star band. Featuring superillustrator and musician Parra, Serge Fabergé from the rap-electro crew DJVT, and Rimer London who has been part of the Electro Duo Comtron.

Together they are Le Le and combine graphic art with dirty electronic funk…inspired by Nu-Wave Disco, Italo, 90ies Pop clichés and 60s Glamour magazines..with a big pop appeal and a good sense of irony. Using a new language: a combination of English, Dutch, German, French and fantasy words.

The album includes the two pre–album singles Disco Monster and Breakfast. Both songs have been getting heavy talks on the blogs and full-on DJ support from DJ Mehdi, Headman, Erol and others.

Inspired by Nu-Wave Disco, Italo Disco, Pop clichés and 60s Glamour magazines: Le Le is a unique force. The music, the vocals, the sense of humour, the ironic take on current mainstream glam pop, the art background and their attitude. A straightforward progression for the current disco/house movement.

It has been a rumor on blogs for a some time …but now it’s sure. Le Le will release their album Le Classics on Gomma in May. The band of Serge Fabergé, Rimer London and sooperdooper illustrator Piet Parra finally decided to do release a collection of their songs on Gomma.

A few tracks had been on blogs and caused a big buzz. And in fact: Their dirty techno funk & proto house is fun. Inspired by 90ies Eurotrash, Italo, The French Riviera, Pop clichés and using a unique combination of English, Dutch, German, French and fantasy words.

After several years of intensive producing Headman hardly needs any introduction! Always ahead of his time Robi is at the origin of the punk-funk/ rave disco movement with his mates of DFA and Playgroup a few years ago when releasing his first album It Rough on Gomma Records. After the success of his second album On released in 2006 and that featured a who’s who of music personalities such as Stephen Dewaele of Soulwax, Matt Safer of The Rapture and Erol Alkan, Robi wanted to reach the next level and produce an album showing his maturity in writing and composing — his third album Catch Me, released in 2008.

MUNK @ PARRA Exhibition Berlin

If you are in Berlin these days, go and visit the first German solo exhibition of Belgian superillustrator PARRA. Mathias Modica – Our man from M.U.N.K. will do some nice music at the vernissage event on Thursday 27th August.

Not only is PARRA one of the most interesting talents in graphic and new subcult art but he also has a nice little music project: It’s called LELE and he did his first remix for us here at Gomma. Check LELE REMIX of HEADMAN’s “Running into time”. Vernissage will be Thursday.

Headman’s third album Catch Me shows the new developments in the Headman sound. He fused his trademark Punk-Style with new Indie influences and composed 12 original tracks with a very nice post-punk, electro and dance flavour. Catch Me includes the 2 hit-singles Running Into Time featuring ladies’ favourite new wave rapper Don Cash and Catch Me if You Can with the sweet voice of Tara, who also sung on It Rough and On & On on his 2 previous albums.

Hi friends, thanks for liking Gomma. We are a music (and graphic) collective. Based in Munich and led by Mathias Modica (aka Munk). The Gomma crew consists of musicians, DJs, bands, graphic designers from Germany, France, Italy, UK, Denmark and the USA.

Gomma is part of this new, little scene of labels who are crossing between club music, independent art and alternative fashion. DFA Records in New York, Kitsune and Ed Banger in Paris, Modular in Australia… different music, but similar ideas. Releasing not only new music, but creating fresh things in pop culture.

At Gomma we try to develop some different eclectic musical languages –- mixing electronic production and “real” instruments. Combining 70ies disco and psychedelic sounds with 90ies Techno, Electronica, House and Indie Pop. Always trying to stay away from the latest trends but inventing new ideas in music.

Gomma releases the music of Munk, Telonius, Daniel Avery & Justin Robertson, The Deadstock 33s, Moullinex, Mercury, Esperanza, The Barking Dogs, Hugo Capablanca, Whomadewho, The KDMS, The Phenomenal Handclap Band, and many more.

Besides the musical output, we produce t-shirts and published an illustration magazine called Amore magazine.
Apart from our artists constantly at clubs and festivals all around the world, we did a lot of visuals happenings that we called the MondoGomma Pictureshows. They took place in galleries in Stockholm, Berlin, Barcelona, Los Angeles, and Tokyo. Including works from Gomma-releated artists such as Thomas Kartsolis & Mirko Borsche aka Smal & Paze. Then Michael Sailstorfer, Micha Hollenbach from P.A.M., The Rammellzee, Sarah Illenberger, Daniel Josefsohn, Kostas Murkudis, Martin Fengel and others.

Gomma has been doing events with and at Haus der Kunst (München), Heimat als Utopie – Happening in Tokyo 2006 (curated by 032c magazine). V Magazine Fanzine Show (New York 2010), several events of French fashion companies (Surface to Air, Chanel, Givenchy, the Colette Shop, Kostas Murkudis, Neil Barrett) and magazines such as Vice, i-D, Interview, Dazed & Confused etc etc…, Sonar Festival, Melt Festival, events at Paris, Milan and New York Fashion Week, and of course a lot of parties in Munich, Berlin and all around the world…

It’s time again for HEADMANs Power Disco! Three versions of Catch Me If U Can – a a 4/4 heavy drums club track with distorted funk bass and a new wave vocal line that once your heard it will never leave your head. The alternative mix by Headman himself adds a little more groove to the original, while the remix can be located somewhere between Yuksek’s RaveFunk and the Disco of Holy Ghost. Check out the PONEY PONEY remix of Running Into Time (with Don Cash on vocals), the guys who recently released the amazing Cross The Fader track (which was produced by Xavier from JUSTICE).
