Munk & Rebolledo – Surf Smurf (Gomma 190)

munk_neu2_n_e

Pachanga Boys’ Rebolledo and Gomma Boss Munk doing a single together! And when two freaks like them meet for music – the result has to be a masterpiece of craziness!
Surf Smurf – this single sounds like a David Lynch movie soundtrack for 2030. A dirty 60ies Surf Rock song gone electronic. There are 2 versions of the song: Rebolledo did a 12 minute dub techno rockabilly orgy. Munk a more energetic surf hop house track that will people drive crazy.

Check this out.. it’s special. Also the bonus track Got It Baby… haha… analogue piano acid techno for soul boys and girls…

munk_sw_23_s

The first single from the upcoming MUNK album! (New album in spring 2014).
Mathias has been joined by 2 new singers for his new songs. One is Mona Lazette. London girl living in Berlin.
If the original version with this crazy indian percussion middle part – doesn’t catch you, you might like Kolombo’s straight house version or the great Social Disco Club remix. Check it out!
For sure this is one of the catchiest tunes we released for a long time.

Munk – Dirty Glam Jams (Maxi)

munk_dgjams_1_neu55

Cat#: Gomma 186
Release: 21 June 2013

This summer we only have 2 releases. One is the Dirty Glam Jams EP by Munk.
5 Tracks that are like an “in between” release before Mr. Munky comes up with some big singles this winter.

The Dirty Glam Jams are Afro and Latin infected tracks. Made for wild disco beaches and hot terraces. Like some late 90ies Masters At Work tunes or the stuff DJ Harvey likes to play these jams are based on house but remind the mid seventies Deodato, Fela or Fania records stuff. Including an effective Moullinex remix.

Big support already by TENSNAKE, MAXXI SOUNDSYSTEM, JIM STANTON of Horse Meat Disco, SOLOMUN, PRINCE LANGUAGE, COSMO VITELLI, XPRESS-2, STRIP STEVE, ROBERT RODIGUEZ, HARD TON and many others..

Munk – Misterio (12″)

Munk_Misterio_printquadrat_digi

Cat#: Gomma 184
Release: 3 May 2013

Looks like this is gonna be one of the big Gomma singles this year.
The first new Munk since 2 years. A mad track. Already played by Tensnake, Maxxi Soundsystem, Recloose and Todd Terje who told us that he is dropping it in every set he is playing since he had it.
The tune was recorded by Mat Munk Modica in Brasil and Berlin. Featuring brazilian punk singer Gab Cervallos. It’s crazy. Somebody called it : New Wave Funk House. Maybe he was right…

Have a listen. Also the Severino Horse Meat Disco and Bonar Bradberry (PBR Streetgang) Remixes are the bomb!

Munk – Keep My Secret (Maxi)

Alan 1-final-1200x1200

Release: 11 February 2011
Cat#: Gomma DT 022

Yeah! Today the new Munk single will be released. “Keep My Secret” feat. Miss Pollyester (from Permanent Vacation) on the mic. Described by a journalist as sounding like “Feist meeting up with Caribou produced by some New York house legends like Masters at Work” – this is a teaser for the new Munk album “The Bird and the Beat” (to be released last week of February).

This sweety little song comes up with remixes by Welcome Stranger (Thomas from Rub n Tug), Jacques Renault from New York’s Runaway and Rory Phillips. We mailed out the tune a few days ago to DJ’s and the feedback is amazing: Breakbot, Tim Sweeney, Prins Thomas and many more are already playing it and hundreds of blogs around the world are talking about it already. Be ready for Munk the 3rd!
