Gomma was born in 2000.
Created, curated and directed by Mathias „Munk“ Modica and Jonas Imbery, who later left the label.
Art direction by Mirko Borsche & Thomas Kartsolis aka Smal & Paze.
Music:
We released indie disco, new wave funk, weird pop & experimental electronica by artists like
WhoMadeWho, Munk, Headman, The Phenomenal Handclap Band, Moullinex, Mocky, Daniel Avery, Dimitri from Paris, Lele (aka Parra), Tomas „Tomboy“ Barfod, Box Codax (Franz Ferdinand side project) and others.
Munk/ Gomma also produced music for/ with
James Murphy, Asia Argento, The Rammellzee, Peaches, Nancy Whang (LCD Soundsystem)…
We curated compilations dedicated to New Wave Funk & Post Rock: ANTI NY (2001) and TEUTONIK DISASTER (2004)
Art & Graphics:
We made art and visual projects, published the graphic magazine Amore and curated exhibitions in galleries around the world.
Gomma retrospectives have taken place in Munich (Haus der Kunst), Stockholm (Beneath gallery), Berlin (Circle Culture), Tokio (with 032C magazine) and other cities.

Mixtape: WhoMadeWho NYE Party Mix
On December 4th WhoMadeWho did an unannounced New Year’s Eve show for their friends at the tiny Ritz club in Copenhagen. After a solid, traditional Danish Christmas dinner of herring, pork and schnapps they got a old-school Danish viking party vibe going. People were drinking, dancing and kissing everywhere. The bass player Tomas’ girlfriend even broke her leg. Truly a night to remember !
WhoMadeWho played live, great local DJ’s were playing, and we recorded the whole thing, so that you can now download and have WhoMadeWho play your New Years Eve house party!

Three versions of Catch Me If U Can – a a 4/4 heavy drums club track with distorted funk bass and a new wave vocal line that once your heard it will never leave your head. The alternative mix by Headman himself adds a little more groove to the original, while the remix can be located somewhere between Yuksek’s RaveFunk and the Disco of Holy Ghost. Check out the PONEY PONEY remix of Running Into Time (with Don Cash on vocals), the guys who recently released the amazing Cross The Fader track (which was produced by Xavier from JUSTICE).
