New Gomma artist The Deadstock 33s (aka Justin Robertson… album coming up in March!) talks with Phantasy records artist Daniel Avery…. about music etc
(Check also the Nylon Icon EP they did together on Gomma!)
One of the rare Munk “Anti House” Mixtapes. 100% old, rare, bizarre and crazy music from the 60ies and 70ies. A podcast originally made for Mike Simonetti’s Italians Do It Better blog last year. But so good that we have to spread it again.
Mathias has been buying vinyl since his early teen days. He says “..after 15.000 vinyls he stopped counting.” Sometimes he goes through the collection and makes a mix with his best loved sounds. If you are open for some time tripping – you gonna love it too: Starting with rare Zappa, Canadian Psych-Rock by Marshmahkan, New Orleans Funk from The Meters going through more 70ies drug music by Connif Thyself, German Kraut by Popul Vuh and obscure LSD Bands from South Germany, late 70ies Proto electronics and other great soundtracks available only on impossible to find vinyl.
Gomma releases a special Club Versions EP from Moullinex‘ debut album Flora. Most of the vocals have been skipped here. The tracks are longer and adjusted as DJ tools.
If you heard Moullinex debut album, released end of October 2012, you know that the music has strong dance elements, but is very song based. Nevertheless some tunes already became a favorite of many DJ’s (“Darkest Night” even reached “Tune of the month” in MixMag/ UK). Like on the album, these tunes still have this unique, beautiful “beach” – vibe. Made near to the sea in Portugal with influences from Motown soul, Brasil Pop, DiscoFunk. Mixed with today’s electronic music. But while the album is more indie pop the club version have more house and disco appeal. Working very well on the dance floor as you are used by Moullinex’ music.
Seth Troxler, Luke Solomon, Art Department, Axel Boman, TEED… everybody’s playing The Barking Dogs‘s latest Gomma single right now. We were curious to hear how THEY play their music… So we asked the boys to make as a podcast. Here it is.. Finest Mushroom Techno from Milano…

Milanese duo The Barking Dogs return to the Gomma label for a superb new single featuring Rush Hour’s Tom Trago and Young Marco and a remix from the ever-excellent Analogue Cops. Warm bass, heavily delayed claps and skittering percussion work around subtle vocal edits, abstract piano chords and sonic sweeps to wonderful effect and create a record that has a truly unique feel. The original is backed up with a remix from Italy’s The Analogue Cops who create a mix that is a wonderful fusion of live elements and techno sensibilities, sublime stuff.
The new Munk Mixtape. A nice slow house – weirdo disco voyage. Starting with an insane Edit of 70ies Rock Classic “In A Gadda Da Vida” made by our Munich friend DJ Mooner. Then getting more electronic with new Moullinex music, the great new Barking Dogs single “Margherita” and a lot of other new unheard dance footage… finally ending with an as of yet unreleased song of The Deadstock 33s’ upcoming album on Gomma. Have fun!
