100% Gomma Mixed by Jacques Renault (Compilation + 12″)

100_gomma_mixed_by

Cat#: Gomma DT048

New York house maestro Jacques Renault is an old friend of Gomma. As he always plays lots of our releases he came up with the idea to do a special SUPERMIX of Gomma tracks only. Rare, old Gomma 12inches mixed with the new, fresh Gomma stuff.

He created a 60 minutes voyage. Dark, dirty, slow, futuristic, percussive. From Disco to Techno. The 100% GOMMA mix comes out for FREE on Soundcloud and as a CD with French TSUGI magazine in April.

The Deadstock 33s – The Pilgrim’s Ghost (Album)

Cat#: Gomma 180 CD
Release: 1 March 2013

We are excited to announce the release of the debut album from Justin Robertson’s The Deadstock 33s, set to drop on March 1st 2013.

The Deadstock 33s is the most recent incarnation of British DJ legend Justin Robertson. Over the past three decades Robertson has helped shape the direction of dance music many times; from his underground DJ sets in Manchester’s early Hacienda days to his Dancehall Techno releases of Lionrock, through his last years partnership with shooting star Daniel Avery (several releases on Gomma). Since one year Justin is back with his The Deadstock 33s project. And everybody wants him: he did remixes for Justice, 2 Bears, Boys Noize. He did a FABRIC mix. Now Robertson is ready to unleash the debut album from The Deadstock. Dub techno, Slo Mo Boogie, Futuristic Disco… whatever you call this – as always Justin is 3 steps ahead.

The Deadstock 33s – Underneath The Pines (12″)

Cat#: Gomma 178
Release: 22 February 2013

Acid house legend Justin Robertson returns to the Gomma label under his The Deadstock 33s moniker with a superb new single featuring remixes from Ewan Pearson & Disco Bloodbath.

Justin Robertson has been part of dance music’s landscape for over twenty years now, bringing his own eclectic approach to bear through his DJ’ing and production work. From his early days at Manchester nights such as Spice and Most Excellent, through his recordings as Lionrock for Deconstruction and on to his long-standing relationship with Bugged Out, Robertson has always been a passionate advocate for quality music in all it’s many guises. His most recent venture has seen the veteran artist adopt a new moniker, The Deadstock 33s under which he has released a string of outstanding singles for the likes of Paper Recordings, Tigersushi & of course leading German label Gomma.

It is to the Gomma label that Justin has turned for the release of his debut from The Deadstock 33s, an album that will be seeing a release early in 2013. Ahead of that album we have the new single ‘Underneath the Pines’ taken from the LP and featuring some sterling remixes. The remixes come courtesy of Ewan Pearson and Disco Bloodbath.

Moullinex – Flora Club Versions (Maxi)

Cat#: Gomma 179
Release date: 7 December 2012

Gomma releases a special Club Versions EP from Moullinex‘ debut album Flora. Most of the vocals have been skipped here. The tracks are longer and adjusted as DJ tools.

If you heard Moullinex debut album, released end of October 2012, you know that the music has strong dance elements, but is very song based. Nevertheless some tunes already became a favorite of many DJ’s (“Darkest Night” even reached “Tune of the month” in MixMag/ UK). Like on the album, these tunes still have this unique, beautiful “beach” – vibe. Made near to the sea in Portugal with influences from Motown soul, Brasil Pop, DiscoFunk. Mixed with today’s electronic music. But while the album is more indie pop the club version have more house and disco appeal. Working very well on the dance floor as you are used by Moullinex’ music.

The Barking Dogs – Your High feat. Tom Trago (12″)

Cat#: Gomma 176
Release: 16 November 2012

Milanese duo The Barking Dogs return to the Gomma label for a superb new single featuring Rush Hour’s Tom Trago and Young Marco and a remix from the ever-excellent Analogue Cops. Warm bass, heavily delayed claps and skittering percussion work around subtle vocal edits, abstract piano chords and sonic sweeps to wonderful effect and create a record that has a truly unique feel. The original is backed up with a remix from Italy’s The Analogue Cops who create a mix that is a wonderful fusion of live elements and techno sensibilities, sublime stuff.

Moullinex – Flora (CD album)

„Tune of the month“ (MixMag/UK November 2012)

Today we finally release the Moullinex debut album FLORA. After several singles over the last years. The album is a 60 minute collection of new songs that mixes the warm Moullinex sound with influences from Motown soul, great 80ies Pop, DiscoFunk and today’s electronic music. Vocals by Moullinex aka Luis Clara Gomez himself, Peaches (on the „Maniac/Flashdance“ cover) and some other great singers.

Essentially FLORA is a dance album, but it is neither a retro pastiche as you have heard it so many times the last years, nor a cold modern imitation of the old sound. Luis has delivered a wonderfully selection of songs that marry timeless melodies with a deft production touch to create an LP that is brimming with positivity. In fact: Flora was recorded in Portugal. Not far from the beach. And knowing this fact you might better understand this sunny vibe of the album.

Moullinex puts some soul back into electro. And Gomma is proud to release such a forward-thinking record.
