"Germany's freshest and most interesting record label" (The NME / UK)

Stimming x Lambert on Gomma’s new sublabel Kryptox

Gomma has started a new label: Kryptox Music. Dedicated to new forms of Jazz, Ambient and contemporary classical music.

After the debut EP of JRBB in December 2017, now we welcome two exceptional musicians: Stimming and Lambert. Two German artists from different backrounds now joined forces. Stimming, coming from the Techno and Electronica world (Diynamic Records) and Lambert, who is the worldwide travelling, misterious piano man with the mask.
They first appeared together with a song on the Displaced Soundtracks compilation (Life & Death 2017). Now, for their new material, they joined Gomma’s new sublabel Kryptox.
“Edelweiss” is the first prerelease from their album “Exodus”. To be released in March 2018.

We’re happy to announce that techno artist MARTIN STIMMING and romantic piano man LAMBERT joined our new label KRYPTOX.
They had one song out on Life & Death’s Unplaced Soundtracks compilation. And now will come with an album on Kryptox in March. The first single EDELWEISS will be out soon… with a video directed by Dalibor Baric.

MUNK Show on Gilles Peterson’ WORLWIDE FM

Worldwide FM invited Mathias do do a radioshow. They wanted him to play only Gomma, Toy Tonics and Kryptox (our new label) releases.
The show was on air last friday. You can listen to it here online. The funny thing: They call him „the Wes Andersons of electronic music“. Not bad :)

Toy Tonics no.7 in MIXMAG „best labels of 2017“ list!

Toy Tonics is #7.

And they wrote some nice words too:

“Toy Tonics records don’t leave the bag, ever. They bide their time, waiting for that ideal moment in a DJ set when the crowd needs a hard, but loving, smack with some soul… and BAM! They hit like an adrenaline shot to the chest and the groove continues at just the right pace. Smooth. Oh how we love and cherish those moments and Toy Tonics is a constant supplier.
Here at Mixmag, Toy Tonics was high on our radar right from the jump, first with Kapote’s ‘The Body Move’, a bassy yet delicate jam that we premiered, and later with Jad & The’s ‘Strings That Never Win’, a disco-tinged belter that we also got the first play of. Add three more releases from COEO and one each from Black Loops and Rhode & Brown and that’s a well stacked year. But don’t sleep, they still have much more in the bag. All eyes, and ears, on Toy Tonics.”

BLACK LOOPS (Toy Tonics) = no.1 Traxsource „best producer 2017“ list.

We are happy that Traxsource chose our main Toy Tonics artist (and Munk’s studio partner) Riccardo Paffetti aka Black Loops as their favorite House producer 2017.
Munk met Riccardo around 6 years ago at a party in Italy and they became friends. Riccardo then became the drummer of the Munk Live band and later moved to Berlin and started to make own productions on our sublabel Toy Tonics. After 8 EPs on our label now he is well established and we are happy that he is part of our family. His next release comes out on Toy Tonics on 19.1.2018.

GOMMA special announcement: New label „KRYPTOX“

„…surprising, individualistic, cutting-edge!“ (Meera Dugal in the New York Daily Music News)

Hello Gomma friends,

this is a special announcement!
We start a new label: KRYPTOX.

A label for new forms of Jazz, Kraut, Ambient, Classical and experimental music & art projects.
A project that Mathias Modica was dreaming of for a long time and now it finally happens.

We signed 5 EPs and albums for 2018. To be released on vinyl, digital (and some on cassette.)

First release this week:

JRBB – Moebius Strip EP
Incl BRANDT BRAUER FRICK Rework. And beat production by COEO.

JRBB (aka Jazzrausch Bigband) is a german 15 member Big Band that combines Jazz with Electronica.
Directed by Leonhard Kuhn and Roman Sladek, who both studied Jazz and composition on different international academies. Their compositions are inspired by classical Hard Bop and Modern Jazz styles as well as the more free late 1980ies Knitting Factory Vibe. All combined with electronic beats. Mostly influenced from German House and Techno.
The Big Band has a hugh fan following in Germany already. They played 80 gigs in the last year and have been invited to play at important festivals. The highlight was an invitation to New York’s LINCOLN CENTER. The main place for Jazz in USA. Where they have been received with standing ovations. Lincoln Center impresario Meera Dugal talked to The New York Music Daily about the band:

“This large scale German ensemble is surprising, considering how individualistic, cutting-edge and irrepressibly fun they are – their instrumentation follows the standard big band jazz model. Stylistically, they’re all over the map. This seventeen-piece outfit validated their reputation as one of the world’s most distinctive and adrenalizing dance outfits.“

Joe Claussell joins the “Mushroom House” series (on our sublabel Toy Tonics)

Our “Mushroom House” series for Afro, Indie & Psychadelic House music has arrived at EP 4.
And we are honored that one of the New York legends of African influenced House music has made an exclusive contribution: Joe Claussell. He used to run New York’s legendary clubnight “Body & Soul” along with Francois K in the 1990ies. An inspiration for every DJ who wanted to cross musical borders. For Toy Tonics Claussell made an Afro house rework of a tune by afrofunk band Karl Hector & the Malcouns.
The EP features also a new track by Vito & Druzzi. An amazing gamelan techno opus that has a unique balearic vibe. Vito & Druzzi usually release on Throne of Blood (NYC) and used to be in The Rapture before.. !!!
