Whomp That Sucker! is a collection of tracks made by the Glimmers with long time friend Ray Mang (recently signed to DFA). Pure dance floor madness. As the Glimmers describe it: “This time there are no musicians involved. Nothing is recorded live. No guest appearances, no pop or rock stars on vocals, no hypes. This time we only serve pure discoid house beats, analogue synths, bleeps, bass and FX and a few gimmicks. This is pure freshness 2011. Play it very loud and be in a different state of mind for best results.”

This new album is a milestone in the Belgian boys’ career. In fact it has been a crazy decade for the Glimmers. It all started when they co – created Eskimo Recordings in 1999. The label where they released the albums of their friends Lindstrom & Prins Thomas, Aeroplane and several own compilations and mix albums. The press loved everyone of them and it gave The Glimmer their well deserved breakthrough in the international DJ scene.

In 2004 they shortened their name into The Glimmers and released their Remixed, Re-edited and F*cked Up mix album. Followed by DJ Kicks (2005) and Fabric Live 31 (2006). Their amalgamation of new-beat-funk-house-techno-new-wave-postdisco-rockpop was a revelation to those bored of linear mix albums. It became their trademark and by now it is state of the art. Copied by thousands of DJ’s everywhere.

But the real big buzz started when they recorded their secret first album: The Glimmers Are Gee Gee Fazzi (2008). Made with Freeform Five, Baby G., Ray Mang, Prins Thomas, CJ Bolland – the CD was never sold in shops but given away for free at the Glimmers’ DJ gigs. So only Glimmers fans and party kids own it. This never seen before! Over 55.000 CD’s have been distributed by the Glimmers all over the world. You can easily imagine what a huge fanbase the boys have. Besides the did remixes for Grace Jones, MGMT, Bloc Party, The Killers, New Order, Roxy Music, Isolee, Phoenix, Munk, Snow Patrol, Soulwax, Calvin Harris, The Chemical Brothers, Doves, Moby and Phenomenal Handclap Band.

The Glimmers are one of the world’s leading freestyle DJ’s and the new album will only confirm their status as permanent innovators in the dance scene. Play it loud!
