This is the third MIX CD with music from the Gomma label. It includes underground club hits, remixes and unreleased songs from the last two years. New tracks by Gomma acts Headman, WhoMadeWho and Munk and (vocal & remix) contributions by friends of the label like The Rapture, DJ Chloe, Midnight Mike, Berlin’s Dirt Crew and James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem). Most of it had so far been only released on vinyl, but it would be a shame to hide these little hits from the CD listeners.

The complilation shows the more „clubby“ side of the Gommalabel. It was mixed by the MUNK boys (Mathias Modica and Jonas Imbery) – the same two guys who released the much acclaimed APERITIVO album two years ago and are also the men behind the small, but always innovative german label. Along with Output, Tigersushi, Kitsune and DFA, Gomma is part of this new generation of companys who started to develop their very own new sound – somewhere in between disco, electronic and post rock.

WhoMadeWho’s debut album is out since mid of sept and the band gets quite a good response. Soulwax and Mylo both asked WhoMadeWho to support them on their UK tours and the single SPACE FOR RENT gets played a lot. The Rapture liked it, too. They asked for doing a Remix and here it is: We called it FANTASY HOUSE. Flipside: The instrumental version of the DIRT CREW Rmx + A little TOMBOY beat.

The first single from the self-titled album. SPACE FOR RENT is something like „glamdisco with a shuffle beat“. The remix by Berlin based friends of Gomma DIRT CREW could be described as a nine minutes 4/4 orgy.
After WhoMadeWho had two quite big clubhits (Satisfaction and The Loop) – the band is currently almost becoming the favorite band of clubs all over Europe: The played at Erol Alkan’s Trash in London to Kill the dj in Paris and FUN Club/ Berlin. Festivals like Sonar, Montreux jazz festival and even supporting Soulwax/ 2 many DJ’s on a few gigs. Euphory everywhere about this band.
