Berlin based performance artist and musican Marco Barotti comes with a new video. If you didn’t have the chance to hear his album from last year (Barotti: Rising LP) now you get a wonderful reminder. Never Talk Again is a song, or better, an opus magnus of electronic – avantgardism. Straight out of Barotti’s phantastic mind. Recorded with an orchestra of strings and horns and the sound of some vintage sinths from the 1970ies. All made in Marocco in long jam sessions. Then edited and reworked in Berlin.
The video for Never Talk Again was shot by Camilla Mantovani.

This is not Techno! This is an Opera! (Peaches about Barotti)

Barotti’s debut album out now on Gomma. Barotti is a musician and contemporary multimedia artist based in Berlin. Doing urban sound installations, performing arts and experimental music. On his debut album Barotti is opening up a new dimension in the vast field between contemporary classical and electronic music. Armed with iconic analog gear of the 1970s, a hand-picked group of high level classical string and horn players that were recorded between Marocco and Berlin.

“Rising” stands firmly with one foot in the same mood as Woodkid and Sohn, and the other foot dipping into the past 200 years of classical music, resting in a lukewarm cocktail of Funkstörung and James Blake.

An amazing and unique work. A soundtrack full of fantastic futuristic sonic fairytales. Epic, electronic and symphonic.

“This is not Techno – this is an opera!” (Peaches)
“Sounds like Woodkid jamming with Nicolas Jaar” (MAG mag)

Barotti is a much talked about multimedia artist based in Berlin. He will release his debut album on Gomma on 20th Nov. This week Gomma puts out the first two songs from the album including a remix by Massimiliano Pagliara (Ostgut Ton/Robert Johnson/Rush Hour)

Barotti has a huge buzz in the international performing-art scene. Doing sound installations and happenings at art galleries and festivals all over the world. When it comes to music this cultural multi-tasker has created an own genre of music. Working with a full orchestra, connecting the beauty of classical instruments with the sound of old analog synths. He creates magic, organic soundscapes. Mystic atmospheres, raw and glamorous at the same time.

Barotti’s music will remind you the atmosphere of Woodkid, Nils Frahm and Sohn, adding influences from the last 200 years of classical music and the distorted electronic aestheticism of Funkstörung and James Blake. The album was recorded in Casablanca and Berlin with a full orchestra.
